AI has shifted from a talking point to a board-level imperative almost overnight. In McKinsey’s January 2025 pulse survey, 94% of employees and 99% of C-suite leaders said they’re already familiar with generative AI tools—yet most executives still underestimate how widely those tools are being used inside their own walls. Meanwhile, 78% of organisations report that AI now underpins at least one business function, up from 55% just two years ago.
