About
Caroline Aggestam is a trainer and consultant in sustainability reporting and public sector financial reporting. She has facilitated training workshops for accounting and sustainability professionals from over 20 countries in North America, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific regions. Caroline has written two books: ‘Sustainability Accounting and Reporting: A CSRD Perspective’ published by Cengage in 2025 and ‘Interpretation and Application of IPSAS’ published by Wiley in 2015. Caroline delivers workshops on sustainability reporting, including the European Union Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the accompanying European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (IFRS S1 and S2), the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, and the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) framework. Caroline’s training covers the full reporting process—from materiality assessment and disclosure design to scenario-based analysis and the integration of sustainability into strategy and risk management. With her experience in both financial and sustainability reporting, she can address the links between financial and sustainability data. Caroline also develops, organisation specific and case-based teaching materials to cater for the specific sustainability matters relevant to the client. Caroline is based in Denmark. She holds a Ph.D In International Accounting.
