About

After earning a First-Class BSc Honours degree in Cognitive Psychology from Sheffield University, Andy entered banking in the late 1990s, quickly excelling as a software developer and team leader at firms such as UBS. He specialized in front-office systems, combining deep knowledge of derivatives with hands-on expertise in database design and financial engineering. Andy deepened his technical and financial capabilities by completing the Certificate in Quantitative Finance (CQF) from 7City. He went on to collaborate with Dr. Paul Wilmott in delivering advanced lectures for the CQF program. As an experienced developer, Andy has worked extensively with Excel VBA, C++, and Python, building production systems that bridge finance and technology. His teaching career began in the early 2000s with 7City/Fitch Training, and he has since lectured at institutions including London Business School and Cambridge University’s Judge Business School. Over two decades, he has delivered finance training across the globe — from London and New York to Singapore and Frankfurt. In 2024, Andy led the derivatives training segment for Goldman Sachs’ graduate program in London, building on years of contribution to their global training initiatives. He has trained thousands of analysts and associates in derivatives, bonds, FX, credit, and equities, and taught extensively on the CFA Level I curriculum. As the author of two technology books published by O’Reilly, Andy has a long-standing passion for making complex topics accessible. Today, he consults for micro hedge funds, developing Python-based crypto trading and forecasting tools. He is also building large language model (LLM) apps using Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems for a startup fund in Gibraltar. Andy’s mission is to simplify the complex — using AI, machine learning, and education to empower professionals and innovate the future of finance.
